Sorry to have been MIA

It's been a while since I posted. . . my absence was not intentional -- I had a house guest that decided wires were fun to chew and I needed to replace all the wires so that I could get the computer back up and running.

Here's info so that I can bring everyone up-to-date:

Stash Busting

I've added fabric to the stash. . . but I need to find the paperwork so that I can put in the correct yardage.

More in. . . .none Out. . . so my numbers are again going in the opposite direction of how I want it to go.

Book Reading

Finally got caught up with listing the books that I have read so far. . . .I'm up to 5 books in 2 1/2 months. Not bad for basically just reading at lunch time or when I'm a passenger in a car.

If I keep up this pace I should be able to complete 20 books by the end of the year -- not counting the magazines and quilt related pattern books (since I'm only counting the novels that I am reading). . . so that goal is within easy reach.

Charity Quilting

I have completed a couple of items so far. I have to complete the binding on the second pre-quilted piece to turn it in this coming Sunday (the next guild meeting).

There is still a ton of fabric for charity items at my place so meeting that goal shouldn't be a problem once I actually have the time to get things done! LOL

Weather

There have been some wicked storms lately. We were almost flooded out over the weekend; luckily though the rain stopped enough so that the flooded areas were able to recede enough not to be a threat.

Hope to have some more pictures of some fun stuff soon.

I'll be talking to ya!

Stash Usage Report -- January 31, 2010

Ok, still haven't gotten into negative numbers yet for this year. . . .but I did use a yard of fabric. . .partly for a block swap I was in & partly for making binding for a charity quilt that is made up of pre-quilted fabric.

Fabric IN this year 10 yards

Fabric IN this week 0 yards

Fabric OUT this week 1 yard

Fabric OUT this year -7.375

There are a bunch of other quilters that are stash busting. . .go check out the list on Judy L's blog --- Patchwork Times.

I'm hoping that I will be able to report an even better week next Sunday. . . because I am thinking that I should get working on some other projects that have been in the works.

For instance, I help teach at a quilting retreat every October. The retreat is held at a Baptist sleep away camp. I found a pattern for a little "goodie" bag that is made using 10" squares so I might make up a bunch of them as hand outs for those that attend the retreat.

Hmmm, lots of ideas of ways to use the stash. . . now I just need to get moving on getting them done!! he he he

Stash Report -- January 24, 2010

Woo Hoo!!! This week I actually used some fabric & worked toward getting a goal for 2010 completed!!

I used a paltry 1.625 yards of fabric to make a quilt top for my quilt guild charity program.

Here are my numbers so far:

Fabric In This Week 0 yards

Fabric In Year To Date 10 yards

Fabric Out This Week 1.625 yards

Fabric Out Year To Date 1.625 yards

Net Fabric Used This Year -8.375 yards

Ok, I'm not exactly where I would like to be as of this moment. . . .BUT I have started to go in the correct direction. And, with other projects that I pulled out of the charity cabinet I'm sure that I will be working on negative numbers soon!

I'll be talking to ya!!

Stash Report for January 10, 2010

Ok, so this is the 2nd Stash Report for 2010. . . and I do not have anything to report!

Fabric IN this week --- 0 yards
Fabric IN year to date --- 0 yards

Fabric OUT this week --- 0 yards
Fabric OUT year to date --- 0 yards

Total stash used this year --- 0 yards

I have been working on a couple of things. . . but the fabric wasn't part of my stash. I am a member of 2 on-line block swap groups & the members send each other fabric each month to make blocks.

So, I have been working. . . just on stuff that isn't mine.

Hopefully by next Sunday I'll have some positive numbers to report!
