Stash Report -- February 21, 2010

I didn't do any sewing this week. . . .spent most of the time reading and sleeping. However, I did get a box of unused cups and mugs boxed up for a donation to the Lupus Foundation (already have a pick up scheduled so I'm working with a deadline).

I'm on my quarterly "clear out the junk" tangent. . .so DH has been trying to avoid me so he doesn't have to do extra work!! he he he

So the stash report, boring as it is, remains the same as last week:

Here are the numbers:

Fabric IN this week: 0 yards

Fabric IN YTD: 12.675 yards

Fabric USED this week: 0 yards

Fabric USED YTD: 3.125 yards

Fabric Stash USED YTD: + 9.55 yards

You can check out how well others have done by checking out Judy's blog.

Stash Report -- February 14, 2010

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, I added more fabric to my stash. . .but I have a good reason, at least to me! he he he

I added 2.675 yards of a pink solid fabric to be used as the background fabric for my version of the "Jelly Roll Sampler" quilt along (see my side bar for the link).

Here is a picture of the fabric that I plan on using for the borders and the pink fabric together.

Instead of using a jelly roll I will be using fabrics from my stash. . . based on the colors from the border fabric. Unfortunately this fabric doesn't have the color dots on the selvedge edge so I will have to play with the greens to see what looks nice.

My plan is to use all shades of pink, the greens that work well and perhaps some small touches of gray and black. In my mind's eye it looks pretty cool. . .we'll see what it looks like once I actually start playing with the blocks.

Ok, now for the report for the week:

Here are the numbers:

Fabric IN this week: 2.675 yards

Fabric IN YTD: 12.675 yards

Fabric USED this week: 0 yards

Fabric USED YTD: 3.125 yards

Fabric Stash USED YTD: + 9.55 yards

I'm hoping to get some sewing done today so that I can possibly start this week off with a "running start".

SNOW!!!!

I have an unexpected day off of work today. So, you would think that I am working on something crafty, wouldn't you?

Nope, I've watched daytime television shows that I don't usually get to see, washed dishes, shovelled some of the "white stuff", and played around on the computer.

I'm glad I filled the bird feeder yesterday; the show that the birds have been putting on today has been quite enjoyable to watch.

I am waiting for "Quilt In A Day" to come on at 2:30PM and I will probably do a little bit of pattern organization later.

Hopefully I'll get some pictures of the snow before too much longer. . .it does look like a wonderland out there.

Stash Report --- Sunday, February 7, 2010

I will be editing this post later today with a couple of pictures, but thought I would at least put in my report.

Fabric IN this week 0 yards

Fabric IN Y-T-D 10 yards

Fabric USED this week 0.5 yards

Fabric USED Y-T-D +6.875

I did some sewing yesterday. . .attached the binding to 2 charity quilts (the fabric from one was counted last week so the 1/2 yard used was for the 2nd quilt).

We have a birthday party to attend today (postponed from yesterday) and, of course, today is Super Bowl Sunday, so perhaps I'll get the bindings sewn on the back of at least one of the charity quilts.

Until later. . . .

I'll be talking to ya!!

It's Snowing!!

Thanks to Mother Nature there is a bunch of "white stuff" on the ground. . .and more is falling!

I figure that there is about 3" on the ground and they say that it will be snowing all of today.

My nephew is turning 5 tomorrow & my sister was planning on having his party today. Somehow I don't think that is going to be happening.

Since I'll be stuck in the house for at least today I think I will work on something in the basement. . .perhaps I can get the binding completed on the 2nd quilt for my charity quilt goal; or maybe I'll just sit in front of the TV and work on my Jacob's Ladder afghan. It's getting close to being long enough and it is a very easy pattern so I don't have to concentrate on what I'm doing while I'm working on it.

I've got to find my camera so I can post some pictures. . . these picture-less posts are getting boring for me so I know you are probably bored too!

Today IS a good day. . . . . .

Today started out to be not such a good day. . . .we are waiting for the snow to start falling & the weather reporters are not showing any consistency with either the amount or the duration of this storm.

As long as it doesn't start snowing while I am at work I don't mind the snow. . .but I really don't like being on the road while the snow is coming down.

But, I just got some partially good news regarding an issue that has plagued me for the past 4 years. . . and it looks like the end is in sight.

So, today IS a good day. . . .bordering on being Great!!

Stash Usage Report -- January 31, 2010

Ok, still haven't gotten into negative numbers yet for this year. . . .but I did use a yard of fabric. . .partly for a block swap I was in & partly for making binding for a charity quilt that is made up of pre-quilted fabric.

Fabric IN this year 10 yards

Fabric IN this week 0 yards

Fabric OUT this week 1 yard

Fabric OUT this year -7.375

There are a bunch of other quilters that are stash busting. . .go check out the list on Judy L's blog --- Patchwork Times.

I'm hoping that I will be able to report an even better week next Sunday. . . because I am thinking that I should get working on some other projects that have been in the works.

For instance, I help teach at a quilting retreat every October. The retreat is held at a Baptist sleep away camp. I found a pattern for a little "goodie" bag that is made using 10" squares so I might make up a bunch of them as hand outs for those that attend the retreat.

Hmmm, lots of ideas of ways to use the stash. . . now I just need to get moving on getting them done!! he he he

I'll be talking to ya!
